i have experience with different languages but would like to really get to know one well. I want to go into the aerospace engineering field. What language is used widely in that industry. (aircraft/spacrcraft development. private industry aerospace, military applications…) ? I’ve thought of C and C++ and Python but i’m not sure…

That’s a very difficult question to answer. I work for a large commercial aircraft company as an engineer. In the 11 years that I have worked there, I have encountered a number of programming languages.
A lot of our legacy software applications were written in FORTRAN. Since these are quite large programs, it was not deemed cost effective to translate them into "newer" languages. Some other applications for extracting information from large text files use scripting languages such as AWK. Other applications have been written using Visual BASIC for Applications in Microsoft Excel.
In short, if you wish to become an aerospace engineer, it is best to know a number of programming languages. That way, when you encounter a language which you are not familiar with, you will be able to translate your knowledge very quickly.
Also, become familiar with different operating systems, such as Linux and UNIX and with shell scripting.
If you want to become a programmer, that’s a whole different thing. Best of luck in your career ahead.
